The Penwith Music Centre is based at Humphry Davy School
and Community Music College in Penzance, Cornwall.
We
are fortunate to be sited in one of the most beautiful
parts of the county, and in a district famous for its
creative community. Local musicians are active in every
genre imaginable - from the great Cornish traditions
of male voice choirs and silver bands, to dance DJs,
world rhythm and rock groups.
The Centre was opened in 2005 as part of Humphry Davy
School's successful bid for specialist music status,
which brought it fantastic music facilities, including
a state of the art recording studio, music technology
suite, enhanced rehearsal rooms, teaching/practice rooms,
and a Music Development Worker, part of whose role
is to bridge school and community, and to support music-making
by local people making use of the school facilities.
